Naomi Alson, Elizabeth Connor, Gena Frank & Catherine VanBramer master the legislative process
BOSTON – Today, four Berkshire County women traveled to the Massachusetts State House as guests of Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D- Pittsfield) to attend the 70th Annual Citizens Legislative Seminar (CLS).
Naomi Alson of Lee, Elizabeth Connor of Dalton, Gena Frank of Great Barrington and Catherine VanBramer of Pittsfield were nominated by Downing to attend the CLS, a citizen seminar intended to educate the public on the Commonwealth’s legislative process. Elizabeth and Gena are currently student interns in Downing’s district and State House offices; Naomi and Catherine responded to the Senator’s call for applicants in January.
Established in 1976 through a collaborative effort of the Massachusetts Senate and the University of Massachusetts, the CLS is a two-day event featuring presentations by Senators and staff on aspects of the day-to-day experience of legislators in the Commonwealth.
