Downing "Goes Red for Women" and heart health at State House event

Boston – State Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D- Pittsfield) joined his legislative colleagues, the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association in promoting women’s heart health during a State House event on the Grand Staircase this afternoon.  
 
Known as “Go Red for Women,” this annual event celebrates the energy, passion and power women have to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke. 
 
Downing also co-sponsored a Joint Resolution of the House and Senate highlighted during today’s event declaring February as American Heart Month in the Commonwealth. For more information on the Go Red for Women initiative visit www.goredforwomen.org.
