Schenectady, NY - (January 25, 2012) – Time Warner Cable, Berkshire County’s largest provider of cable and broadband services, today announced completion of new network construction in the Town of Sheffield, MA, bringing its advanced video, digital phone and high speed broadband to more homes in the South Berkshires. Time Warner Cable extended its advanced hybrid fiber optic network about 15 miles in the southern part of the Town, passing 111 new homes. Complete details of the new construction area are available at the Town offices.
Over the past few years, Time Warner Cable has invested hundreds of millions of dollars across the Northeast to update equipment and technology to make these networks even more robust and reliable for customers. This recent project is further proof of Time Warner Cable’s commitment to its customers and the communities it serves.
“Time Warner Cable is excited to welcome residents of the southern part of the Town of Sheffield to our family of Time Warner Cable customers,” said Steve Trippe, Area Vice President of Operations for Time Warner Cable in the Northeast. “Time Warner Cable appreciates the relationship we have with State Senator Ben Downing, State Representative Smitty Pignatelli, and our other elected officials in the region, and their focus on the importance of broadband.”

Residents of the community will now enjoy access to high quality telecommunications services. Now our work must go on to make sure all Massachusetts residents have that same level of access.” Downing serves as the Senate Chairman of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy.
State Representative Smitty Pignatelli, D-Lenox said, “I welcome this news as it will greatly benefit the Town of Sheffield. Greater access to broadband will provide a boost to the economic competitiveness of the town and greatly increase the quality of life for its residents.
