Pittsfield – State Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D- Pittsfield) is pleased to announce that his district office, located at 7 North Street, Suite 307 in downtown Pittsfield, is serving as a drop-off site for Toys for Tots holiday donations. Starting today, the Senator and his staff will collect donations of unwrapped toys until the week of December 12th.
“Every child should experience joy during the holidays,” said Downing. “I am proud to partner with the Marines this year and hope to collect many toys, so we can help delight that many more children on Christmas morning.”
Downing’s office will accept donations of unwrapped toys until the week of December 12th, when they will be collected by the Marines of Machine Gun Platoon, Anti-Terrorism Battalion from the Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee. All donations collected by Downing and other drop-off sites locally will be distributed to needy children throughout western Massachusetts by the Marines.
The Senator’s Pittsfield office is open Monday through Friday, from 9am until 5pm. Walk-ins are always welcome; no appointment is necessary to bring a donation or speak with the Senator’s district staff.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
