Pittsfield – Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D- Pittsfield) is bringing his monthly Coffee & Conversation program to Monroe on Monday, September 12, 2011.
Each year Downing hosts ten Coffee & Conversation events – open public forums in rotating towns across his Berkshire, Hampshire and Franklin Senate District. This fall, after Monroe, the Senator plans to hold public forums in Goshen and Adams.
Downing represents 48 western Massachusetts communities, including seven in Franklin County. This month’s event in Monroe will achieve the Senator’s goal of personally visiting with residents in all seven of his Franklin County towns.
On September 12th, Downing’s Coffee & Conversation will take place in the Meeting Room of the Monroe Public Library, located at 3B School Street in Monroe Bridge from 4-6pm. During that time, Downing will provide free coffee and refreshments and be available to those interested in meeting with their State Senator face-to-face.
While Downing’s community relations and constituent services hub is his 7 North Street district office in Pittsfield, he recognizes that serving the largest, most rural district in the Massachusetts Senate presents communication challenges. The Pittsfield office is open during normal business hours Monday through Friday; walk-ins are always welcome.
