Pittsfield- Local humanities projects provide historical, cultural and ethical perspectives on issues of interest.  Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D-Pittsfield) today announces two grants totaling $11,631 for projects run by local cultural organizations.  The Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities is awarding the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield and Double Edge Theatre Productions in Ashfield for their insightful programs.

“In today’s social climate, there is a great need to engage our communities in honest dialog about basic principals and purpose,” states Downing.  “These two organizations deserve support and recognition for the scope of their thought provoking programs.”
