Pittsfield- Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D-Pittsfield) is pleased to announce the opening of local artist Ashley Clark’s exhibit in his district office, located at 20 Bank Row in Pittsfield.
“Each artist has a unique gift and I enjoy seeing the many techniques and talents each artist shares,” said Downing. “I welcome all to stop by my office and view the works of Ashley Clark.”
A recent graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Clark is quickly laying the foundation for a successful career in Photography. Since 2005, Clark has taken her camera with her capturing beautiful images of landscapes in and around her family farm in Tolland, Massachusetts. Using her 8”x10” view camera she also takes self-portraits. Her work has been collected by Barclays Bank and is in numerous private collections. Last fall, Fahrenheit Magazine, a publication from Mexico City, featured eleven of Clark’s prints. An article entitled: “Ashley Clark: Una Meditacion Sobre La Mortalidad” (Ashley Clark: A Meditation in Mortality) accompanied the images. Clark also participates in group shows throughout the Northeast, most recently in an exhibit at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
From mid-October through mid-December, Clark will have ten images of landscapes on display in both color and black and white. For more information visit Clark’s website at: www.ashleybclark.com.
Downing’s district office is open during normal business hours Monday through Friday. Local artists interested in exhibiting their work through the Senator’s Local Artist Exhibition Program should contact Allison Krol at (413) 442-4008.
