PRESS RELEASE- Opportunity to Get Involved in State Government! January 31, 2007
Pittsfield - State Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D-Pittsfield) is pleased to announce the availability of internship opportunities in his district office (located in Downtown Pittsfield at 20 Bank Row). Interns will be tasked with a diverse set of responsibilities and will have the opportunity to learn about various state government policies and programs as they assist constituents, draft correspondence, and provide general administrative support to the District Coordinator as necessary.
“Exposing students to various forms of government encourages them to think about a possible future in public service in Massachusetts,” said Downing.“This internship opportunity will provide students with many interesting and challenging experiences.”
College students, high school seniors, or community volunteers with an interest in state government and a willingness to help out in the office a few hours each week are encouraged to submit a cover letter and resume to Senator Downing’s District Coordinator,Allison Johnson, at 20 Bank Row, Suite 202, Pittsfield MA 01201.Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from to ; internship hours can be tailored to fit personal schedules on an individual basis.
