PRESS RELEASE- State Offers Free Procurement Training: Berkshire County Businesses to Benefit August 08, 2007
Boston-State Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D-Pittsfield) announces today that the Massachusetts Operational Services Division (OSD), the Commonwealth’s central procurement office, will be offering free training in BerkshireCounty for businesses interested in learning more about the state’s public procurement process.
This new training, “Pathways to Procurement,” will be held on Monday, October 15th from at the Department of Conservation and Recreation Regional Headquarters, located at 740 South Street in Pittsfield.Topics include an overview of the procurement process, understanding contract forms, the Affirmative Marketing Program for minority and women owned business enterprises, Comm-PASS, the Commonwealth’s e-procurement system and marketing strategies.
This training session is one of many that will be offered to the business community at various locations throughout the Commonwealth and is one of several business friendly initiatives announced by Governor Patrick designed to increase the number of potential state contractors, both large and small.The October 15th training can accommodate up to 50 attendees and there is room available for companies to register.Companies can register on-line for the event by sending an email with the company name, attendee name, emails address and telephone number to OSDOutreach@osd.state.ma.us.
